How can i put square (power) on a bracket in MS Word ?

In equation of divide (a+b)2 (c+d)3 [2 and 3 are powers] / (a+b) (c+d)2 and it looks like this and like superscript. the superscript option is off in equation. I have seen this in a school paper . please guide me. thanks for your time
