Mason help

I hired a GC who told me his mason was great. I hired for a flagstone patio. He had some guys dig the hole then filled it with 7in of stone dust, no 3/4in gravel. Is this going to be a suitable base for my patio?

Sounds good to me, if they whacked it down with a whacked plate it will never move
