Tiling a balcony

Posted by Georgina Smith, on
My balcony is also a roof. It's been reroofed and now I want tiles on top to stop furniture etc damaging the asphalt. I am going to get promenade tiles which I understand are the right ones for this. Do they go right to the edge, or do you just lay them like a rug, as it were? If they go to the edge, is it ok if you end up with 'raw' edges showing? The tiles are quite large -30cm sq. Would it be better just to leave as asphalt the bits where we won't tread so we can have a clean edge or will that look odd? Thank you.
