Yes you can if the plaster under adhesive is sound , make sure to apply Pva first G, branch plastering

Can I re-tile on plaster once I have removed the old tiles? I have been told by a plasterer that I need to re-skim the walls before putting new tiles on. If the wall is in good condition and I remove what adhesive I can from the old tiles, can I not just re-tile on top of the old plaster?

Providing the skimming stays on,water down some pva don't use neat pva, then you can re,tile
