New wooden front door with double glazed windows. Which tradesman?

Posted by Gillian Young, on
I would like a traditional front door with double glazed glass. Which trades people should I ask? Traditional craftsmen, double glazing specialists or carpenters/joiners?

Hi Gillian for a timber door you would be best to go for a carpenter, window and conservatory fitters are more UPVC orientated. A lot more skill required to hang a timber door well. Ed.

Hello Gillian, it all depends on the size of door if it is ie: 78''x32'', 78''x33'', 80''x32'' then you can get these off the shelf at any good DIY store or builders merchant and a carpenter could hang it for you but if the door is of an odd size or design then you could advertise for a joiner to quote to make a door from scratch. Cheers Ian
