Hi - we recently had one of the rated people tradesman quote on a bathroom job (shower pressure and exhaust fan check). He said he would give us a quote after looking at the problem (specifically asked him if he would charge for the visit and he said no). After the visit, he said he had fixed the problem (lime scale and loose connection) and that it would cost £180 because it took him just over 2 hours to find the problem. I feel I should've been told about the cost before being asked to pay (after the fact). In any case, what would a reasonable cost be for such work? Bit upset that I'm not in control of deciding before the fact.
