Bathroom fitting problems

Posted by Jonathen , on
We had a bathroom fitter planned to come and fit the bathroom he had asked us to plaster the walls which hasn't been done due to the plasterer letting us down. He came in and left without doing any jobs and we had paid the first instalment of the £800 can I get that back or I'm at fault for being let down?

I don't agree with the answer above £800 that's not right if he's not going to do the workhe should refund that money and at most to say u ow him a days money as wasted his day I would be asking for the money back or get him to do the work as agreed

Hi Jonathen did you make the bathroom fitter aware that the walls hadn't been plastered in good time before his arrival If you did this I would have thought that something could have been worked between you so that the work could move foreword However if you didn't give good notice then you have left yourself open to be charged for waste of time Have you tried talking to the fitter to see if something can be worked out to get the job back on track Kind regards Peter Howell
