Plumber keeps leaving job now well over run on time.

Posted by margaret krawiecka, on
Plumber has shower room and bathroom to do. Said it would be 3 to 4 weeks. We are 3 weeks into job and he has not even finished shower room, bathroom not started. I have discussed this with him. He is touchy. I fear if I push him he will leave the job. We are in a mess because master bedroom is being used as his work room. He is dreadfully messy and dirty too. What can I do please?

Hello Margaret, Has he hit many snags? These can add time to job and time off site collecting materials. Give him a chance and have a chat about times scales and ask for a commitment to a finishing date. If after talking to him you are still not happy you may want to consider sacking him from job, covering material cost and if feeling generous money for his labour. Get a qualified plumber from here with good reviews and have an educated look at what if will take to rectify or complete job. Then you will have a better idea what to give him for labour. Living in a house with all materials and tools to do job can be difficult for both trades and homeowner. As for mess there is a huge amount of dust disturbed and created doing installation. Should be cleaning up as best he can though, daily
