Leaking bathroom

Posted by Saima Iram, on
My bath is not fixed properly therefore every time it is used my conservatory ceiling leaks as the bathroom is directly above it. The ceiling now has a crack in it and there is also a light installation next to the leak so it is quite dangerous. I would like the bath to be fixed in place properly and wish to remove the mosaic tiles which is around the bath and have put in place proper large bathroom tiles. My question is can the existing bath be fixed properly to prevent the leaks?

Hi Saima The bath should be fixed with legs and have clips underneath to fix the edges to the wall. It sounds like there could be flex in the floor itself and the silicone seal around the bath has split. The answer is yes a bath can be properly fixed to floor and wall so there is no movement and then water won't get between the tiles and bath. As long as the install is done correctly you'll have no problems.
