Sealing a bathroom

Posted by Alex Dunkley, on
I have recently had a new bathroom fitted, fully tiled floor and walls. The plumber and tiler are arguing over who should mastic the corners of the rooms, from the floor to the ceiling. I appreciate that the plumber should mastic around the bath etc which he has done. Please can somebody advise who should be expected to do this?

Probably both of these people aren’t any good at applying silicone correctly so they don’t want to do it rather than let either two of these people mess it up you would probably be wise to get in trades person who does silicone as a trade you will get a far superior job for not a lot of extra cost

You would expect tiler to mastic at the point of finishing this would normally include bath as would be fitted prior to tiling The sink and toilet would be fitted on top of tiles so plumber would mastic these Hope this helps
