Hi lorna, The tradesman that you need is a stonemason if your building is made of stone. They will be able to advise the correct mortar for the type of stonework and will be able to pick out the pointing with out damaging the corners of the stones ( arises). Don't be fooled into thinking that there is such a trade as a pointing tradesman as there is no such trade what there is is a semi skilled operative that has a basic knowledge of how to repoint a wall with basic trowel skills however they do not know how to reinstate the original fabric of the building back to how it exactly was.
