Black mould on ceilings

Posted by Rebecca Jordan, on
I have black mould on my ceilings at the outside wall edge. The house - a bungalow -was built in 2007. The is no leak in the attic, and the insulation appears to be adequate. The gutters are not overflowing or full of debris. Do I need someone who (a) deals with insulation? (b) deals with guttering? (c) someone else? Thank you.

Hi Rebecca If you have no apparent leaks from the outside your mould may be caused by the lack of adequate ventilation. A good Builder is the person to contact to have a look and advise you on what to do to remedy it. Aiden

Hi Rebecca. Sounds like you have a condensation problem which causes black spot mould. More ventilation is required. Look for specialist tradesmen under damp control. Regards Stephen
