Mould appearing on furniture, no sign of dampness in house, help.

Posted by Maggie Rayson, on
My house does not show any sign of damp but recently I have found mould patches on furniture in two rooms. What could be the cause and the remedy? Thank you

If a wooden surface is wet it can dry into the wood and cause the patches - I am thinking it has been wiped with a damp cloth and not properly dried of!

Do you have any pets in the home or any vases that have water replaced regularly or do you place cold drinks on the furniture in question? If not I would ventilate the room regularly by opening windows or make arrangements for ventilation to be installed in the room so the air in the room is circulating.

STUART COOPER

Hi, do you have any air bricks visible in the rooms? You may need some installing for ventilation however bathrooms suffer from this more that do not have adequate ventilation.

What would you like to do now?
