HELP!

Posted by nicola mchugh, on
I have laminate floor in my dining room that is leaking where each peice meets. There is also a lot of damage to the paint at the bottom of the walls. It is not a outside wall. I have NO IDEA who to call... A plumber? Any advice would be great so I can post a job for the right tradesman.

You need a plummer if you get in touch with your insurance they will probably have there own guys that they use all the time your flooring will also be covered plus any damage to wall decor regards steve

Call your insurance company , call it a burst pipe . They will give you permission to employ a plumber to fix it . Everything damaged by water is covered but the actual cost of the pipe repair(only) is not .

A Plumber could be the answer. But be aware they may charge for a call out so check first. Iv been to many jobs like this and sometimes its not as bad as it seems. Laminates and such solid floors alike do trap water for a long time It sounds as though you need the flooring taken up to investigate

Hi Nicola it sound like you may have a damp problem. I would say either way the floor needs to come up for further investigation. Regards Andy

Hello Nicola, It would require a Plummber. Budget £100 you will have an excess on your insurance so it won't be worth it. Regards Michael

Sounds like you have a leak under the floor. You need a plumber first then a flooring guy to replace the floor.

Paul Collins

You need a plumber. When the leak is fixed you'll need to replace the affected flooring. Kind regards Paul
