Unlevel floor

Posted by Neville Lawrence, on
I have had my kitchen and dining room extended, the original wall knocked out, the new concrete base is not the same level as the wooden floor, I want to fit laminate flooring but too much of a dip, The problems lies where the original wall has been levelled, have you got a solution please,,

Depending on the depth of the gap you will need to either screed the concrete floor to bring it to the required height or if it is not too much the same result can be achieved using self levelling compound. Either option will allow a laminate to be fitted, you must allow for a decent underlay NOT the flimsy poly roll stuff. Rule of thumb is you can never pay too much for the underlay, the better quality the better the end result Jim
