While this site is great at getting in contact with trades people, it massive lacks the ability to gather ideas of what to look for when recruiting for a job, mainly being what are the recognised trade bodies for each trade? When getting a new kitchen installed, what trade bodies should I look for to handle plumbing and installing a gas cooker?

You should just be making sure the company/tradesperson is gas safe registered to do the gas .

Excuse my ignorance, but why would you be looking for recognised trade bodies to handle your kitchen installation ? Trade bodies don't handle the works, they govern good working and codes of practice JIRELAND PLUMBER
