We are All careful not to be too heavy footed especially on flat roof decking,but,Yes you will get some slight cracks. Omelettes with out eggs getting broken springs to mind Most roofers do mention in their quotes this may occur. I'm sure it's unavoidable.....

depends what work you are having done? If you are having new decking on a flat roof then it is fairly common as they often share the same timbers that they are fixed to.
