Hi Jack, No, it is not - some roofers have never practiced that technique. Please post a job on the rain site - if you provide details that you have an asphalt roof that requires patching it will be clear for the roofers, (that can do that type of work). Alternatively, you could renew the whole roof with a new material as the asphalt will continue to fail in different areas, (around the current / historic repairs.
