New roof for small old terraced house?

Posted by Geraldine Wright, on
Around how much roughly would we be looking at for a new roof on a 1920ies small terraced property without a gable. Our son is thinking of buying and the ridge tiles need pointing badly and some of the small slates have slipped. The house is in Hull.

Hello Geraldine, £4000 would go a long way, if you can us the tiles from your roof then this figure would be reduced. Regards Michael

hi geraldine i would allow 4000 to 6000pounds with scaffold and also dont just point over original pointing on ridges they need to be taken up and re bedded in mortar to do the job properly

To reroof this property should be in the region of £4500 all depending on scaffolding needed and access

Re roofing is priced per square metre, we would need that to be accurate. Also it requires a site visit to assess scaffolding requirements. Ballpark figures are £4,000 to £6,000.

HELLO, TO RE-ROOF USING NEW SLATES INCLUDING FELT & BATON & SCAFFOLD ABOUT £5,000INC.

Hello Geraldine We would have to look at the roof to obtain measurements and the access has an impact on the scaffolding cost. Kind Regards Chris (The Roofing Co)
