Dry ridges or traditioal ridge tiles and mortar?

Posted by David Webb, on
After 50 years of watching mortar drop out of my various ridge tiles and waiting for them to fly off in the wind - dry ridges seem a good idea. Any views? Roughly how much should I suggest for dry ridges on a 36 ridge tile roof?

hello david as regards of the mortar falling out this could be due to the way the ridges are bedded and also the wrong mix which after time will break down quickly and fall out if done properly it should last along time as regards of dry ridge systems they cant blow off if done right but they have had leakage problems i have been told and it can be expensive depending on what system is used.
