Absolute best would be GRP system which basically means a fibre glass roof which lasts 3 times as long as felt but would be 35% more expensive Regards Chris

Yes you would be looking at a high tensile polyester felt
The cheapest option would still be felt but long term a GRP roof If applied by a good roofer is a good option. It lasts for over 25 years with A guarantee for the 25 years.
Owen Hi The way forward is either EPDM (rubber type) roofing membrane, or a single ply PVC membrane. The latter is by far the best but obviously more costly. You should also consider insulation, you say you have felt now, this can be upgraded quite easy, providing your substrate (decking boards) are in a good condition. The roofing contractor will clean off the felt check for any defects (blisters, cracks ) repair them and then fix a new recovery board (18mm OSB roofing grade) or just PIR high density insulation to the existing roofing deck. Then fully bond the new membrane to this. If you can find a roofing company that installs Sarna, Protan, (PVC) or something similar, you will qualify for a 20 year manufacturer warranty. Trust this helps. Cheers Mark
