Hi Wayne the simple answer is you can't! Apparently it's good business practice to provide leads that you can't contact but still charge for them and make out you are doing your customers a favour! How do they sleep? Very nicely with all that extra income! Ed

Hi Wayne Rated people stopped refunding people for job leads a couple of months ago. They said people were abusing the system , not sure how... They put a massive spin on it saying they were going to deliver better quality leads so we don't have to go through the hassle of refunding them, which is rubbish because it was no hassle at all, all we had to do was click a button . Nothings changed because I get just as many time wasters now as I did then. On top of this the customer used to put down what they valued the job at, which would help you gauge whether they were being ridiculously unrealistic (or optimistic) and therefore you could weed those ones out.

I've emailed rated about 3 times without the decency of 1 reply from them I've just paid for a £20 lead and I've called emailed and texted but no reply so I suppose that's 20 quid I've chucked down the drain, wish they would go back to the old system Rant over

Hi Wayne, As our Experts have explained, you cannot request a credit for a job which you did not win, unless the details provided were invalid. How we work now is that you can 'Request a callback' whereby we encourage the homeowner to contact you and allow you to quote. These changes were made after continuous feedback from tradesmen like yourself. We have been rolling out new job forms in response to feedback and tradesmen like yourself have seen new and better information coming through on the forms as a result. We’ve also seen more jobs come through to the site with nearly 900,000 jobs posted last year. As a result of this, the overall lead quality is higher and win rates are significantly higher than they have been in the past. Unfortunately we cannot control how a homeowner will behave after you have bought a lead. Our most successful customers do not rely on an individual lead for success with us. While you may not win every lead, you are making valuable connections and some leads will lead to customers for life. On average, our customers win 1 in every 4 leads they buy and make 20x’s their money back. If you feel that your win rate is below average, we have some tips to help you. Although they are aimed at new joiners, you will find the majority useful nonetheless: http://www.ratedpeople.com/c/tradespeople/help#i-just-joined. If you would like to discuss last year's changes in more detail, please contact our customer support team: http://www.ratedpeople.com/contact-us/contact-us-form Best Wishes, Natalie, Ask an Expert Moderator
