Flat roofs

Posted by Stefania Power, on
My builder did some bad, highly dangerous and illegal work. The flat roofs need to be looked at and re-done. One is totally missing the fall as specified by the architect in his plans! Have had various roofers over all of whom express anger that people do this and are full of sympathy for me but then collectively say they don't want to get involved because it is their worst nightmare. How am I supposed to rectify the situation and achieve closure if no-one will help?

Firstly did you get a copy of the roofers public liability insurance 1. If so then contact them 2. If not then lesson learned as you should have, if he was unwilling to provide this then you shouldn't have used him. As far as getting it sorted most tradesmen will run a mile from a job such as yours as they simply don't know what they'll find hidden and it can be difficult to satisfy a custumer after they had a bad experience. Has the architect inspected the work and condemned it, that would at least be an independent assement
