Flat roofs

Posted by Stefania Power, on
Hi Martin and Chris Thanks for your replies. Forgive the sarcasm but none of them very helpful! Martin, when someone has done something stupid, they don't need to have their nose rubbed in the &%^$. The builder assaulted me so forgive me for not wanting him anywhere within a 1000 mile radius of me. The architect has done a report, that stupid I am not. I am fully aware there may be other unseen problems but all I am trying to do is find someone who is willing to take on the task of rectifying the matter. Chris, removing everything and starting again is exactly what I would like to do but again, it seems some tradesmen love to diss other people's work but are not willing to put their expertise where their mouth is!

Hi Stefania having read your previous question I can see you are in a difficult situation and to have been assaulted makes it even worse. Trades are always wary of taking on jobs started by someone else because you do not know what horrors are waiting to be discovered and as the customer has already paid once they are loathe to pay out even more money. If the work is as bad as you say then it all needs to come off and be completely redone. That said there is always someone prepared to take on the job it's just a matter of finding them, do your homework and get someone reputable, can your architect recommend a good builder? Ed

It wasn't meant as sarcasm just simple facts, having insurance details are just that an insurance nor did I know the seriousness of the situation. I would ask for roofers to simply quote for the work doing and make no mention of the previous problems hopefully then you will get somebody to do the work, taking over from someone else is always a nightmare

What would you like to do now?
