Potential leaking roof or pipes and damaged guttering

I keep seeing what looks like damp patches on my carpet upstairs around the wall separating 2 bedrooms and also on the corner of the stairs, yet the walls don't feel damp.
I also think my guttering outside is leaking, either due to damage or the gutters being overgrown.
