Garage Roof

Posted by Andrew Weeble, on
I have been recommended to cover garage metal roof with celotex to prevent condensation. It is a double garage. Is there a recommended thickness

Andrew, you just cannot cover the roof area with insulation, as condensation will form and the only place to go is inside the building. The best way forward is, utilse the metal sheets as a Vapour Control Layer, place your insulation on the top of the sheeting, then over sheet this crating a sandwitch, then the condensation will dripout into the gutter and you will have a new roof.

Almost any thickness will help but the walls will get just as wet as they will be colder than the roof
