Hi George if the soil pipe is no longer used it could be removed and the section of roof filled in with matching roof tiles. Would solve the problem permanently. Ed

Hi Sounds like the flashing on the roof either needs repairing or replacing around the soil pipe this is a vent pipe only so has no fluid in it ,contact a roofer or plumber that deals with soil stack flashings . Thanks Jason Edifice Projects
