We had a new roof on our house about 8 years ago as the roof leaked. It has continued to leak ever since to the point where the coving in one of the bedrooms is now bowing. I think the chimney stack needs to be repaired as there is a substantial amount of mortar missing. My husband thinks it should be removed, but I am concerned about the visual impact of doing this. Could the poor state of the stack cause such a leak and therefore by repairing it the issue would be fixed or should be remove it altogether?
