Hi Jonathan I doubt you would get permission from your local council to do this especially if the cottage is listed or in a conservation area but it would be worth contacting Building Control to ask their opinion. Ed
Raising a roof

I have an existing loft conversion in a 200 year old cottage, completed by previous owners over 20 years ago. It is finished to a good standard, but has only 190cm ceiling height at the apex! Is it feasible to add an extra meter to the walls and rebuild the roof to make the space livable? Thanks for any guidance you can offer!
