Hi Josey You don't mention if the room is going to be lived in? if so you need a warm roof construction, which means insulation is installed on the outside of the roof and not on the underside like in between the rafters, try and stay away from fiberglass can be loud when heavy rain falls onto it. Rubber (EPDM) is a very good product, but make sure you use a good tradesman as a lot of roofers think it is easy to lay but on insulation you need to use contact adhesive and not water based, which is more tricky. Hi josey There are good alternatives available now the 2 most common are fibre glass roofs and epdm rubber roof. Both are good however the rubber option is cheaper and my preferred choice, I've completed several of these and have been impressed by the product. It's a one piece membrane so no joins or seems in the roof Martin
