Leaking concrete tile pitched roof

Posted by Iain Smith, on
I have a small piched roof (approx 5m long x1m wide) between my 1st floor wall and my neighbours wall with concrete tiles. It repeatedly leaks in heavy rain. We've had the lead flashing replaced and further repairs carried out but still the same problem occurs. is there a better solutiion for such a confined space than traditional felt and tiles that would help with this problem or have the roofers that we've had in missed something?

Hi Iain it sounds like the roof slopes between the 2 walls, presumably it must drain into a gutter? You may find the gutter could be the problem if it doesn't drain quickly enough when it rains heavily it will overflow possibly causing the leaks. Try a hose pipe test to check it out. Other possible causes could be incorrect pitch for tiles or not enough headlap, presumably roofer already checked this? Ed
