Replacing a felt tile roof

Posted by Angela Richards, on
We need to retille our village hall, currently felt tiles, and would like to consider concrete tiles with added insulation. We have been advised that the weight shd not increase by more than 15%. Can you advise how to assess weight difference please?

you need to go see a structural engineer, as these guys do all the math for you. Alternately count your tile's, weigh one and then weigh a new one and then time's it by, and that should give you a rough estimate as to weight difference. but with margins as low as 15% id opt for engineer. Hi Angela, assessing the weight difference may involve the services of a structural engineer. My advise would be to consider a tile called Marley etertit, there is hardly any weight in them whatsoever, they are a made of fibre cement and are 100% recyclable. Hope this helps and good luck Regards Scott SM Contracts
