Water coming in from angle of roof

Posted by Niall Whyte, on
Our extension (now 5 years old) has water coming in at the angle of the roof and wall. No slates appear to be damaged. Velux windows seem to be intact at the joins. What is the likely cause?

Good morning Niall, The best way to resolve this is to have a roofer inspect your roof. When a roof leaks through a ceiling it's not always the case that that is the exact spot of the leak as water will simply find its lowest point to drop internally once it's worked its way down the breathable membrane. From your question however I would start your search in the ridge tiles and make sure the pointing is of sound state, if the roof is a lean to then check the lead work. Again I would advice you had a specialist out to view and go through the process of elimination. Hope this helps. Kind Regards Andy LCS
