Double-insulated garage roof and an air gap.

Posted by Martin Evans, on
I have 100mm deep roof trusses and 50mm Kingspan; I plan to line the inside/bottom of the roof trusses with ThermaWrap (foil-covered bubble wrap) for both insulation and light reflection purposes. Where should I leave the air gap; between the Kingspan and the tiles (i.e. outermost) or between the Kingspan and the ThermaWrap (i.e. innermost)? TIA

Hi Martin You must leave an air gap (minimum of 50 mm) between the tiles and insulation to prevent condensation build up.
