Ridge on new semi detached roof not in line with neighbours

Posted by KULVINDER DOAL, on
Our builder has built our new roof frame but our tiler is saying when the tiles go on it will be higher than our semi detached neighbours roof. There is a difference of about 4 cm. Can the tiles go on with adjustments or do we need to redo the roof again

Hi Kulvinder, In answer to your question I would assume your new roof tiles are of the same style/ size as your neighbours and that both properties are inline with each other entirely. In this case I would suggest the timber batons beneath which support the tiles will need to be realigned by running your baton inline with your neighbours. It sounds like your builder has misjudged the pitch or started tiling from the wrong place and this will ultimately show up on the finished product. I recommend you contact your builder to discuss the above.
