Your best bet is to get a roofer out or a multi trade contractor to have a look. Hi Mark It sounds like the roof is at fault as water is leaking through the cavity to internal walls. If the guttering is faulty you'll just have water damage on the external wall not internal. The pointing shouldn't be a major factor as unless there is a lot of wind to push water through cracks it's unlikely,maybe there isn't any DPC over the lintel to stop water from running into the bathroom window either.
