I've been given a quotation for work but the only contact number I have is a mobile, there's no address for the company no landline number and it hasn't been signed, he seemed a plausible chap, what should I do.

Hi Alex, Is the person on rated people and are the reviews very good. Unfortunately there is no foul proof method. The industry and government are pushing NICEIC, ECA memberships etc but some people who have been identified as competent still complete work below regulation standard. All I can say is if he is a member of rated people with good reviews he should be completing good work. If he is a member of rated people or another organization such as NICEIC or checkatrade. Contact them for confirmation that they are genuine as they will have the personal details and should be able to assist if you have a concern. If you have any doubts about any people then don't use them as you need to trust the person to work in your property. Thanks Steve HBF Services j
