We had a roofer check the roof due to a leak. Told slates need replacing said ok. Next we knew other bitsremoved without permission or talking to us first and coukd not replace them as broken. Felt under pressure to get them to do job as weather bad and no time for other quotes as told rain would get in loft and ceiling and electrics etc. Ceiling did get ruined but not because of ridge because of poor work. Told as gesture of good will will paint over problem but that's it. Now worried as other parts of rooms ceiling smells damp and worried about how roof looks and if proper job is being done and not happy about ridge tiles going down roof between us and neighbour. We had a quote during this and told £7000 for slate including scaffolding. These other roofers quotes £2000 more even though we questioned it and no scaffolding included with price we had to pay more. We are so worried and don't know what to do.
