We had a roofer check the roof due to a leak. Told slates need replacing said ok. Next we knew other bits removed without permission or talking to us first and could not replace them as broken. Felt pressure to get them to do job as weather bad & no time for other quotes as told rain would get in loft & ceiling & electrics etc. Ceiling did get ruined but not because of ridge because of poor work. Told as gesture of good will will paint over problem but that's it. Now worried as other parts of rooms ceiling smells damp & worried about how roof looks & if proper job is being done & not happy about ridge tiles going down roof between us & neighbour. We had a quote during this and told £7000 for slate including scaffolding. These other roofers quotes £2000 more even though we questioned it & no scaffolding included with price we had to pay more. We are so worried & don't know what to do.
