Ridge tiles moved causing leak

Posted by Rahila Khalid, on
My house is a 130s semi detached house. The cement on the ridge tiles has come away causing them to slip and sunlight can be seen from the loft around the ridge area in the last week. I have been told that the slats and the felt underneath will also have to be replaced. I have 40 ridge tiles. I have have been quoted £40 / tile to remove, clean and cement in replace placing felt under the ridge arae over the roof on the outside under the ridge tile. Will the do the job or is this a temporary fix? Is £1600 reasonable quote for this Job? He also said that there was a new system which does not require cementing in place but felt is place under a new type of ridge tile that interlocks I think that was £80 /tile £3200 in total. Please advise Thank- you very much . Keep safe and well.
