I'm concerned that I may have been ripped off by the roofer I used via Rated People. Initially i was quoted £350 to replace a missing ridge tile & the roofer asked me to send pictures of the damage. It turns out that there were 2 tiles missing. The price jumped to £550 then. It turns out that this didn't include VAT which was added on my doorstep when I paid by bank transfer. This took the the cost to £660. This seems excessive for a job that took 15/20 minutes up a ladder. Am I right to be concerned? The name of the company on Rated People is different to who the invoice was received & paid to.
