I've had a problem with damp at the top of the stairwell wall probably for some years now. I previously thought it was just lack of airing but the problem worsened last year and I had a roofing company paint the chimney (adjacent to stairwell) with Flexacril and seal the base with Thompson water seal. Now the damp is back and slightly shifted along the stairwell wall. Is this very probably a roofing problem as suspected before or something completely different? Any leads appreciated!
