Crispin is a proper electrician. There are many out there who don't really give a damn but Crispin does

Crispin was an absolute pleasure to work with. Friendly, professional, and extremely experienced. He did a great job on all the rooms in our flat, replacing all our dated fixtures for modern, inbuilt LED lights - with no damage to the ceiling, and all within a day. He was always contactable and came over several times before the job: once to quote and advise, and a second time so we could choose the different lights we wanted. I would highly recommend Electrical Matters for any electric work you need.

What can we expect for replacing an old style fuse box with a new one? Supply and fit . Would also need certification for renting purposes. How long a job is this to do?

You'd be providing a greater protection against faults firstly. Depending on the age of the property or should there be any indication to suggest poor work then an electrician would suggest Electrical Installation Condition Report. This would highlight problems and departures from the Regs that may hamper certification. A new board could be done in a day. Size of the property will determine time though.

I have been getting shocks from kitchen sink, bathroom shower, x box and toaster. Checked earthing by stop tap and all working and connected fine, no rust, algi etc. Possibly need to test the whole house earth testing, continuity of the circuits, checking resitance insulation etc. is this right thing to be checking?

This sounds like your property has zero earthing - not unheard of but totally unacceptable! Do have a qualified electrician perform EICR, Electrical Installation Condition Report. This will involve checking every part of the system / circuit and identify the problem.
