Carpenter / Joiner

Quick reply to job, came to look at job , 2 weeks later no quote . Seems a nice guy can’t comment on work thou because it didn’t happen. He did reply saying he was wait for a price on materials but 2 messages now and no reply .

Gardener / Landscape gardeners

I would strongly recommend this young man. He responded quickly, came to view the job the same day, and started work the next. He listened to what I required, and did what was a very muddy job with gusto, finishing and clearing up within the expected time frame. I was very happy with the price we agreed, and with the excellent finished result.

Painter and decorator

Phil was quick to call around and give us a quote for the job and said he’d get in touch to confirm the date of the job but I had to chase him to sort it. We agreed today and Phil said he’d be here between 8:30 and 8:45am and he hasn’t turned up and isn’t answering calls or texts. What a complete waste of time!

Speedy reply, meet and quotation which I was more than happy with. Excellent job carried out the next day where the rubbish was not only removed but the area and surrounding area all de~weeded and cleaned. Very happy with the service and would highly recommend this company.

Removal Services

Wasted my time. Received my quote a month ago & still no work has been done. I’ve repeatedly messaged asking about start date etc and just been told “I’ll have to check the diary” and “sometime next week” with no follow up. Extremely dissapointed and will be advising everyone to avoid.

Hard to give feedback because the work has not started yet but I WILL say that I have spoken to Phil several times and we have gone through what is needed and I felt that every conversation went really well. If the service so far is anything to go by then I am excited! The initial enquiry was answered quickly, he's always available, very enthusiastic and helpful (nothing is too much trouble) and I have seen pics of completed works am looking forward to working with him!

I have artex on my bathroom ceiling and walls, what is best to get it off? Of can I just plaster over it?

Hi Rachel, Yes you are able to plaster straight over your existing artex. You will find many plasterers have different ways of skimming over artex but my preferred method would be to use a bonding coat 1st and then I would apply a coat of multi finish plaster to achieve a smooth flat finish ready for painting. Including the prepartion work and plastering work I would say this is a 2 day job and for labour and materials I would expect a cost of around £350-£450. I hope this helps answers your question many thanks Phil Pg Maintenance Services

We currently have artex on most interior walls down stairs and wall paper in the rooms upstairs. Looking to get all walls 'smoothed' over to paint. I'm not sure who to look for or what to ask for in terms of rendering/plastering/polishing etc.

Hi Candyce, To help you with covering the existing artex I would suggest you look for a local plasterer. Most plastering firms will be competent enough to complete the wallpaper removal and also the plastering. Thanks Phil Pg Maintenance Services
