Gardener / Landscape gardeners

There was a bit of a delay getting started on the job due to weather problems but Scott kept me informed and let me know exactly when the job would start. Scott and Paul were very pleasant and worked hard. I am very pleased with the tiles on the steps at the front door and the fencing and trellis at the back door are solid and well made.

Good job done. Repair to fix A roof tile that constantly shifts . Scott secured the roof tile and those around it . I have no doubt that the tile will be more stable now . Pleasant to deal with

Scott and his workmate did an absolutely excellent job on the repair works to our slate roof. His communication was great throughout and despite the work taking longer than expected, Scott insisted on sticking to the original price. He took lots of photos of the work being done and explained it all in detail leaving no doubt that the work was carried out to a high standard. I would highly recommend Scott and his team and would not hesitate in using them again.

Plasterer / Renderer

Scott did excellent work on a challenging external rendering job. He was extremely professional and communicated really well at all times and clearly stated what he was doing. Would thoroughly recommend and will use for further jobs in the future.

The guys were great - worked until the job was done even when it took longer than expected and they had another commitment. Fence looks great and no mess. Really pleased.

Scott came out at short notice and repaired a leaking pitched roof at my property about four weeks ago. He arrived when he said he would and his repair has held through high winds and heavy rain. I therefore found him to be effective and reliable. He also seems to be a really nice guy and I would certainly contact him if I need any further work done.

What is the recommended method to remove moss growth from a roof? Power washing or cleaning with chemicals?

Hello Anne, the recommended (by me) method is to scrape every tile clean from the top down and finally the gutter/downpipes etc. Not the most favourable job in the roofing world but needs to be done sometimes. Treat with an anti fungal solution which deters any future growth, unfortunately the rate of growth depends on where you live! I would never pressure wash tiles as depending on the make they can be extremely brittle, usually the older the weaker. Good luck Scott McLean roofing and building ltd

Hi, I want to post a job but don't know what price range to use. The ridge tiles on one corner of my house are loose. Some of the cement has come loose and slid into the gutter. There are 15 ridge tiles but I don't know if the would all need to be reset. Could you give me a guide price to use in my job post please?

Hi john, for 15 ridge tiles to be re-bed would be £300.00 You should probably assume that if the corner tiles are loose, the rest will follow soon so best to get the whole job re-done. Good luck Scott Mclean roofing and building ltd
