Roof ventilation

Posted by Clive Littler, on
My builder replaced an roof tile vent with an ordinary roof tile. When I asked I was told that the roof would get ventilation from other sources such as soffits and that the tile vent wasn't really needed. It is a small end terraced house (basically one room up and down). None of the other roofs in the terrace appear to have roof tile vents (built around 1986). There are now 2 tile vents on the front pitch and one the rear. Am I right to worry?

Hi Clive- each property is different. Tile vents of course do create further air flow through the roof space. Unless you have any problems with damp or mould Then it should be fine as there is more than likely a few other ways of air to get in and out. If it really does worry you then of course place the job on the website and get some quotes and carry out the work- shouldn't be anymore than £140.00 Lew.
