What a saga, not Lewis or his teams fault. The access To the roof tighter than looks and the pigeons had t fully grown. The team knew about DEFRA guidance and what they could/couldn’t do around nests. Lewis was/ is very nice and very clear in communication. Would definitely use again. The job is not fully complete but they assure me they will be back. And I trust them. Use them very friendly courteous and fair.

Job was to dismantle repair and refit a standalone tiled garage roof and fit it with 2 velux windows. Guys turned up as promised and cracked on. Did a quality job quickly and with no fuss. They also offered advice on a few improvements we wanted to make to the garage. They were friendly, and professional . The company kept in touch - very important as we had lots of people promise quotes etc who never even bothered. All in all - would totally recommend this company!

Lewis is lovely and a very thorough worker who does not rush with great attention to detail. He does however take too much sugar in his tea ??

Essex Roofing Limited answered questions about Bricklayer in Bishop's Stortford

john Freeman's question

Hi, My external roof tiles, flashing etc are in good shape, there are no leaks inside roof. The problem I have is that the membrane seen from the loft space is or seems like a paper tar and fibre fabric. This is torn in many places and not easy to patch up and as the wind blows though it damages it more. Can one repair from inside (maybe with spray on coat ) or do the tiles need to be removed to replace the membrane. p.s. would this affect a house sale.

Good evening John, We answer this question regularly. A surveyor would usually show this as a problem on there report as this does cause the following; debris in the loft, pests and plenty of through draft. Although not integral to having a waterproof roof the felt certainly is beneficial to have in good condition, if any water was to ever ingress this does provide a secondary barrier too. In order to replace the felt correctly the batten and tiles would required to be removed and replaced. I hope that helps. Lewis Essex roofing limited.
