Condensation

Posted by Paul Cook, on
Should there be condensation in an attic? My attic space is forming really bad condensation on the felt lining, causing everything to become quite wet!

You should have roof vents installed, this would reduce the effects of condensation dramatically. JIRELAND PLUMBER

Hi Paul no you shouldn't have condensation in the loft area as this will cause problems, you may need to increase ventilation with vented roof tiles to cure the problem. Check to see that loft insulation is not pushed right into the eaves as this can reduce ventilation also check if ducting from bathroom extractors as become damaged. If you have recently had UPVC fascias and soffit fitted this can block ventilation that was previously there and it's worthwhile checking for any leaks in the roof. Ed
