Roof Tiles

Posted by Nicola Tennant, on
Hi, In the early stages of Storm Doris yesterday I lost a few tiles off my roof. My property is only a year old and soon after moving in I had a roof tile lift which was fixed my the builders on site. The roof tiles that came off yesterday were from the same place that the roof tile lifted before. No other properties in my street have been affected by the storm. Please can you advise me if I can prove this has been caused by poor workmanship, which is my feeling. The customer care department are saying I will most likely need to contact my home insurance company to make a claim? The builders are still working on site.

This sounds like you're in a wind trap area. I've seen this a few times! Either the tiles in the area affected will need to be nails in with a good quality nail or glue to prevent the same happening again. I would recommend posting the job on here and asking for a roof report from the roofing company and providing that to the insurance/ home builders as you then have something to back up your claims. Hope this helps. Lewis
