After meeting Johnny I got him to quote for a much bigger job, comprising of a huge area of paving with a big concrete base for a garden house as well as the driveway extension, laying of cabling and adding a soak away and drainage. I was apprehensive due to the size of the job & the expenditure involved but I chose J Ward over others that have done work for me before. I couldn’t be more pleased with how things turned out, the work ethic of the team was unreal. Johnny is a true professional.

Bellhurst Construction gave me a very detailed quote and were able to start the job promptly. Darrel worked with me on adjusting he quote in order to prioritise the things that needed the most attention. We were held up a few days by the weather initially, but once things were underway I was very happy with how things progressed. The team were polite and worked hard through some of the hottest days of the year! The end result is wonderful and really makes the most of the garden.

Alltype Building responded swiftly to my original request to fix some guttering. They provided a reasonable quote and started straight away. It became apparent that the whole of the guttering really needed changing and after a re-quote this was completed to a high standard. During this job the ridge tiles to the main house were discovered to be dangerously loose in many places and they were able to mobilise a team straight away to fix them, again to a high standard. He offered us a solution to covering up the fake stone front of our home to give us the exact result we had hoped for when no-one else could. Don't be put off if you are a distance away from where Bill is based as Arbiter Coatings travelled a long way to us and had other jobs in our area, We can see why these guys are in high demand.

We specialise in urgent response repairs on insurance claims where flooding, subsidence and other problems occur.
This was one of those jobs that had various problems from the start. Having said that SMS did put them all right without complaint. The quote given for the clearing of the site AND the complete redesign was excellent. The original deadline was missed by a long way primarily due to misjudging the anomalies of the site (eg the underlying concrete was a lot thicker than anticipated). SMS were slow in clearing the site after the work was done - it took almost three weeks before the last of the rubble and debris were moved. Overall, I am pleased with the work done and the final result and would be prepared to use them again.

Levelling the site was good but the slab laying was bad. Had the whole lot taken up and relayed by someone else.
I have 34 years experience in property maintenance, specialising in plastering, brickwork repairs, roof repairs, fencing.
The stud wall put in is very uneven having a big bump from ceiling to floor where two walls meet the stud. They did both walls so it’s totally their fault. I would say Bryan is an okay plasterer but it was an absolute mess and very sloppy. i now have had other plasterers So know what it’s supposed to look like. I had never had a wall plastered before. He refused to give me an invoice. He asked me to pay into his wife’s account. It was all very bizzarr. I would not recommend & would say be wary.
Jason came to provide me a new lawn, as the previous was installed very poorly. The end result is fantastic, but for me it was the craftsmanship on display up to that point that really impressed me. Jason and his team were professional throughout the job and also provided an excellent service at a not-so-expensive outlay. I throughly recommend Jason, and he is a good person to add. Well done and great work!

A bit of a let down. Promises of doing all I asked, when it came to finishing, some jobs done, some done shoddily and some not done at all. Left terrible mess and did not take the rubbish despite promising to do so. Do not pay them before they finish is my advice
